Despite being extremely popular on the other side of the Atlantic, Steve Jones has failed to win over the American public as host of The X Factor USA.

But the Welsh hunk may well find his fanbase growing after stripping off on The Ellen DeGeneres show.

Steve, 34, showed off his muscles and rugged body, complete with hairy chest, as he agreed to model a T-shirt the chat show host had given him.

As he stood shirtless he joked by covering his nipples before quickly pulling on the shirt exclaiming: 'It's a bit low'.

Before he flashed his flesh, which left the crowd whooping, the Welsh presenter explained how difficult his job on the X Factor was and how his biggest problem was dealing with producers screaming into his earpiece.

Jones, who has been criticised by fans for cutting off the judges and rushing them for a decision explained that he was simply carrying out instructions from show bosses.

He revealed: ‘I’m wearing an earpiece and there’s about five people screaming, shut Paula up. Shut her up now. Move on. I’m going to have hearing damage in this ear by the end of series. I feel terrible because I feel on occasions I’m coming across as rude and abrupt and that’s really not me.’

Ellen humours him and tells him: ‘I think you’re doing it right,’ before adding ‘(Paula) knows that. She’s done the show before.’

Steve responds: ‘She just talks and talks and talks. Doesn’t she? Where is the off button on this woman?'

Ellen also teased Steve by showing viewers an early snap of him to which he exclaimed: 'No, I don't even know where that is from it's hideous.'
