Elle Fanning took the world by storm in 2011, quickly becoming known as much for quirky fashion choices as she was her arresting presence on the big screen.
Now, in addition to modelling for Marc Jacobs and appearing in W magazine with her older sister, Dakota, the 13-year-old starlet is gracing the February 2012 cover of Teen Vogue.
In a behind-the-scenes video for the shoot, she reveals how she chooses the ensembles that have ultimately made her a fashion darling.

The star of films like Super 8 and We Bought A Zoo says that her innocent, fun style is a result of her age, and she plans on keeping it that way.
'I’d much rather look like a two-year-old than a 21-year-old,' she tells the teen fashion magazine.
She appears in a series of outfits that, while don't look exactly toddler-friendly, do stay true to her unusual style sensibilities.
She looks darling sat by a pool with a parasol dangling in her hand, a black, Gossip Girl style bow in her hair and flip-flops on her feet.
The white, ruffled Bebe top adds a bit of sophistication to the laid-back ensemble, as does her Aurelie Bidermann ring and Lena Wald necklace.
She is pretty in pink in an age-appropriate, bubble gum hued Carven dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs statement necklace and pink patterned Miu Miu booties.

She also wears a J. Crew-style red and white striped T-shirt dress and circle sunglasses as well as a bold orange shift dress.
Elle even defines her own style as quirky, saying in the video: '[I'd describe my style] as quirky offbeat. I love the '70s, I'm very into that right now. The long, Chloe dresses, very Virgin Suicides.'

She also described her red carpet style, saying: 'I like to be very girly, with bows and ruffles on the red carpet. I love pastel colours, especially blue.'
'Me and my sister both because of our eyes look good in blues.'

In fact, the sultry star has given her the nickname 'Elbow' and they now 'talk on e-mail all the time.'
At 13, she's never been in love, so she can't exactly pull from experience for future acting roles.
'I sort of make believe,' she says. 'That's why I like acting. You can create or imagine anything. It's not like I've fallen in love, but I've had crushes and things.'

Still, some things about the young blonde star still purely spell teenager - especially when she talks about her movie star crush, Ryan Gosling.
Her squeal can practically be heard out loud as she tells the magazine: 'Me and my friends saw Crazy, Stupid, Love, and we were freaking out. Everyone falls in love with him after that.'
