Confidence boost: The Ultimate Plunge bra is the deepest cleavage bra to date

For those brave enough to take the plunge, at last there’s some support on offer.

Wonderbra has introduced its deepest cleavage bra to date – just in time for the Christmas party season to begin.

Aimed at those who want to wear the daring necklines favoured by stars such as Jennifer Lopez, the Ultimate Plunge bra promises to do away with the need for tape to protect their modesty.

Inspiration: Jennifer Lopez and her trademark daring, yet sexy style

The study also discovered that over her lifetime, a woman will purchase 1,847 items of clothing but the majority of it will be the very similar, with 54 per cent of women sticking to the same styles every time they shop.

Julia Nolan, marketing director for the lingerie brand, said: ‘Taking the plunge is all about challenging yourself to face your fashion fears and be braver with your look.

'With the Wonderbra Ultimate Plunge bra, girls can have the confidence to embrace the plunging neckline trend.’

The £32 bra comes in sizes from 32A to 38DD and is available at stores including House of Fraser, Debenhams and John Lewis.

They then invited women to bungy jump down in front of the model's cleavage.

Victoria Joint, Heidi Speed and Kate Hassen won an online competition to be three of the first to take the plunge off the top of a crane placed infront of the image.

According to designers, the bra’s structure boosts cleavage, while the clear strip in the centre makes it subtle and lets women don risque outfits with confidence.

Wonderful: The Wonderbra image was projected onto the side of Battersea Power Station and women jumped from a platform at the top of a crane

As well as Miss Lopez – known to fans as J-Lo – other famous figures who have stepped out in dramatically low-cut designs recently include Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Pippa Middleton.

Research by Wonderbra found more than a quarter of women wanted to follow their example, but almost half said they lacked the confidence.
