Sony Music has confirmed that the music of Pretty Trisha and Thala Ajiths much awaited Mankatha will be released in Chennai on August 10th, 2011. Meanwhile the latest buzz is that there is confusion with regard to Mankatha’s release, because of the change in government. There are reports that distributors are not keen to take the release rights of this film produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri. But Ajith has now confirmed that the film will have a smooth release. I’m a professional and have fulfilled my professional obligations. The film’s producer, Dhayanidhi Alagiri, has conducted himself in a very professional manner. I’m sure he will sort out the issues relating to the release of the film. I’m not worried about the change in government; it’s the troublemakers within the industry I’m worried about, Ajith was quoted as saying. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film also stars Gorgeous Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Premji Amaren, Arjun and Vaibhav in prominent roles. Mankatha is an action thriller which is rumoured to narrate the story of match-fixing sagas in international cricket matches. Arjun will play the role of an investigative officer who takes up the task of exposing the bookies.
