Angel Trisha Krishnan and Thala Ajith’s Mankatha is directed by Venkat Prabhu with an ensemble star cast of Arjun, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Ameran, Anjali and the usual star cast of Venkat Prabhu’s fondly called “Chennai 28” team. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music for Mankatha is much awaited which he has delayed to perfect.
Velayudham is another much awaited film that has Vijay in the lead and Aascar Ravichandran produces and distributes the film for want of distributors. So, now the big question for the audience is which one will release first. Velayudham or Mankatha? The answer is Mankatha. The Ajith & Trisha's film will release first because of the Kerala distributors who wanted Mankatha to release on August 19, 2011 to cash in on Ramzan.
Since both the films cannot release on the same day, they decided to take the onam festival to release Velayudham on August 31, 2011. So, it is Mankatha which releases first while Velayudham will take the biggest festival. Who will win? Vijay or Ajith? Velayudham or Mankatha? This is a question only fans can answer.
