‘Thala’ Ajith and Stunning Beauty Trisha Krishnan's hit film ‘Mankatha’ is completed its 50th day. The film that was released with a grand opening on August 31st this year is still running to packed halls in many theatres. The film is reported to have collected Rs. 80 Crore in box office in 30 days. This is the fastest collection of any Tamil film after superstar’s super duper hit ‘Endhiran’. .
After seeing the Ajith & Trisha starrer Mankatha, Suriya is said to have wondered how long it would take him to act in a film like that. Suriya was apparently showering praises on Ajith for acting in a negative role without considering his image. Ajith’s negative role in Mankatha was the talk of the town when the film released.
Ajith played a baddie with a salt-and-pepper hair and bellied 40-year old. It is noteworthy that at a time when his contemporaries would shun such roles to maintain their image, Ajith took it up without any qualms.
The film featured Ajith Kumar, Arjun, Trisha Krishnan, Vaibhav, Andrea and Anjali in the lead and directed by Venkat Prabhu, and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music and songs are still topping the charts. With Mankatha reaching its very first landmark, let’s hope that the film scales greater heights.
