The TVB actress accepted a radio interview yesterday and talked about her contract with TVB again. Whether she would renew her contract, leave and sign another management company, or just sign a new manager, she is still thinking and it would be announced in 2 months.

"The final decision would be made base on job opportunities, quality of work, and sense of security."

Charmaine expressed both TVB and companies in Mainland have good offers. She would definitely miss TVB if she leaves. She denied not willing to renew her contract just because she lost TV Queen to Sheren Tang last year.

"I'm not that superficial," she said. "It's not like awards aren't important, but I don't value things with them. I just want to reach another peak in my career."

Charmaine Sheh: It's Hard to Be the Lead

Charmaine Sheh is being nominated 'Best Actress' TV queen in recent years. Winning the title her first time in 2006, but she lost to "rival" Sheren Tang the past 2 years. Rumors said the actress is unsatisfied with the result, and intends to leave and focus in the Mainland market. But of course, she denies these rumors.

"In fact, winning or losing is not the most important. 'Can't Buy Me Love' and 'No Regrets' have different genres. I'm very happy both dramas did well. It's a double win. I think the most competitive race for TV Queen was in 2004. Three of us from 'War and Beauty' were in the top 5 nominations. I'm more relaxed every year. To be honest, it's already great to be in the top 5, it proved I'm able to compete."

Starred in many dramas as the lead, Charmaine's role as Chiu Yeung Princess is one of her favorite roles.

"I rarely stared in comedies. I was afraid when I read the scripts in the beginning. This girl is annoying, always causing troubles! I was working on 'When Heaven Burns' at the same time, so I didn't have much time to analyze the character. I'm glad everyone like her at the end, letting viewers see the other side of me. It's very happy to film comedies. Chemistry between actors is important, and I think we're a perfect combo in the drama."

Charmaine entered the showbiz after winning Miss Hong Kong second runner-up in 1997. Her acting and voice were criticized in the beginning, but she caught up after working hard, big thanks to TVB's Catherine Tsang.

"She always say this to me: 'You're so ugly, fix it up!' She keeps pushing me. I didn't know how to act before, but she never gave up on me. She keeps giving me opportunities, and I tried my best to change. I remember asking Felix Wong when we filmed together in 2001: 'How can I do better, just like you?' He said act more and you would get better. You get what you work for."

"I never went to TVB's acting class. I was a plain white paper after participating in Miss HK. I'm like a sponge, absorbing and learning others' good points, then getting more confident gradually and finally found my way. I would spend a lot of time preparing and studying my character. Like in 'When Heaven Burns,' I kept thinking how my boyfriend got killed and my unhappy past the month before filming."

Charmaine appeared to be tired during the interview. In fact, she has been filming nonstop the past year---she filmed 170 episodes of TV drama in total. She said she really wants to take a break and go on a vacation soon. Doesn't even have time to rest, of course she doesn't have time to date. Although her grandma often urges her to get married soon, but the TVB actress still haven't found her Mr. Right.

"You can't go quick on this. I think it's all fated. Now I won't purposely make it happen. Plus, if I have a boyfriend now, I don't even have time to be with him. I would feel very sorry for him."

Haven't find a Mr. Right in real life, Charmaine already had many rumors with her fellow TVB colleagues, like Moses Chan and Raymond Lam recently. She is tired of even explaining them.

"Many are so made up. They're just writing them for fun. It just happens to every guy I work with. I would answer when they ask me. I don't know what they would write about. I worked with Moses before, but it wasn't last year they finally wrote about us."

Although she is not doing well on her love life, but definitely well on investment. Earlier she earned nearly 9.0 million after selling a "feng shui" house. She is very happy about it.

"I'm happy when I look at my deposits. I would save what I earned. I don't know stocks well, so I only invest on properties. I would go for a new place when the price drops."

Charmaine Sheh Focuses on Treating Her Arm

Although facing changes at work, but Charmaine Sheh promises to continue to work hard.

The actress was injured earlier, forcing her to temporarily stop working to treat her forearm. She has returned Hong Kong and yesterday was spotted going to the doctors for treatment. She seemed to be in good spirits, but was being very careful to avoid hurting her forearm again. When asked about her injury, she disclosed it got a little better.

Other artists might be busy attending to different celebration shows during Chinese New Year, but Charmaine has to rest.

"No big plans on Chinese New Year, must rest for a while," she said.

As for new boss Chan Kwok Keung to be in control of her company, Charmaine did not say much, stressing it is more important for her to rest at this moment.

"As actors, we should do our job well, and film more good dramas," she said. "But now I must take some time off to treat my injury first."

Charmaine Sheh Not Filming 'Forensic Heroes 3'

Due to an arm injury, it's confirmed Charmaine Sheh won't star in upcoming TVB drama "Forensic Heroes 3."

The TVB actress has been filming in Mainland recently and was about to return to Hong Kong. When she was getting off a car at the airport, she slipped and her left arm elbow hit the ground first, which caused her joint to dislocate. She is expected to take several weeks off to treat her arm.

Charmaine talked about her current condition on the phone yesterday and sounded quite weak: "My leg started to numb, and doctors said nerves are being pressed. My hand hurts a lot. My waist can't stay in the same position for too long, so I didn't sleep well last night."

The 2006 TV Queen is disappointed that she couldn't collaborate with TV King Wayne Lai this time. She's upset that her accident affected the drama, which started filming already.

Producer of the drama Mui Siu Ching is in a rush to find someone equivalent to Charmaine. She stressed it's more important for the actress to be in good health.

"Even if she forces herself to work, her joint could be dislocated again easily. She might need to do physical therapy exercises after resting 6 weeks," she said.

Male lead of the drama Wayne was superstitious that he thought his bad luck might have ruined his chance to collaborate with Charmaine. As for who is his desired female lead replacement, he can't think of one yet.

"It's hard to say," he said. "But it's more important for her to be pretty, since I'm a handsome man in the drama."

In addition, it's said Maggie Cheung would take Charmaine's role.

Charmaine Sheh Plans to Return HK For TV Queen

Seems like Charmaine Sheh does not want to give this year's TV Queen away.

Originally thought she does not have a chance in winning this year's TV Queen, now knowing average rating of "No Regrets" is not as good as her series "Can't Buy Me Love," she has hope again in winning the award.

The actress is currently in Mainland filming and is scheduling a few days off just to attend to the awards ceremony. She confirms the plan on the phone: "My manager is negotiating with the crew. I do want to participate since I'm nominated. But I won't have time to try on jewelries and dresses, that will be my manager's job!"

The 2006 TV Queen expresses she is calm about the awards ceremony and would like "Can't Buy Me Love" to win "Best Series."

Her competitor Sheren Tang is confirmed to attend this year's TVB Anniversary Awards. It seems if she does not appear, Sheren will have a higher chance in winning.

Charmaine Sheh Never Attended Rich Men's Dinner Parties

Currently filming in Wuxi, Charmaine Sheh is again involved in the rumor of attending to dinners held by rich men. Yesterday she angrily said: "Saying this without evidence, it's very unfair to us artistes!" She stressed she never attended those rumored dinner parties. But she cannot control what media are writing, so she can only believe those who are innocent will remain innocent.

As for she is fighting TV Queen award with Sheren Tang, Charmaine expressed she does not value awards that much. Every actor/actress did his/her best to play the role. If she was the judge, she will not know who to pick. She said: "I don't have that much pressure. But because everyone keeps asking me this question, I started to feel a little stressed. Just let it be."

TVB Anniversary Feature: Charmaine Sheh

Charmaine Sheh Sze Man (佘詩曼) is definitely one of the most successful TVB "fa-dans" in 2000s.

The actress joined TVB after winning 3rd place in 1997's Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Her first series is Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (1999). But her acting was criticized in the beginning, especially her "little chicken voice" (squeaky voice).

She then spent half of a year to try to remove the "little chicken voice" and kept improving her acting. Her improvement is notable in many series, such as her first role as the lead in Return of the Cuckoo (2000) where she won that year's "My Favorite TV On-screen Couple" with Julian Cheung, Country Spirit (2001), and War and Beauty (2004).

Not only she can play serious roles, she is actually not bad in comedies. Word Twisters' Adventures (2007) with Jordan Chan, You're Hired (2009) with well-known comedian Dayo Wong, and the recent Can't Buy Me Love (2010), she proved her wide-range performance in different series over these years.

In 2006, her acting is acknowledged as she won TV Queen (Best Actress) with series Maiden's Vow, where she played 4 generations of women in the drama. This year her role as 3 Princess in Can't Buy Me Love once again made her one of the top favorites for TV Queen. Charmaine or Sheren this year?

Charmaine Sheh Earns From Selling Properties

Charmaine Sheh, one of the top favorites to win TV Queen this year, attended to a Mainland property press event yesterday. She was asked whether she knows how to invest, and expressed: "I only know how to buy properties. I think it's safer. (How many properties do you own?) The price is high now, I sold them all. (You earned a lot?) Satisfying amount!" Reporters then asked her whether finding a husband is safer than buy properties, Charmaine expressed it's safer to buy properties, because people change but not buildings. Asked whether she plans to buy properties in Mainland, she said: "I thought of it. I just returned from Guangzhou last night. The environment is really good there."

Charmaine also said she won't be in Hong Kong during TVB's Anniversary Awards Ceremony because she has to shoot series in Mainland. She said: "I need to go in the middle of November. I have to stay there for 70 days, so it's not up to me to decide. I have to see if they let me come back to Hong Kong to attend the award ceremony."
